Drag in the Digital Age is the first meet up of the QX (Queer eXperience) Meetup group.
We’re meeting on Wednesday, May 16, 2018 from 7-9pm at Thoughtworks NYC (99 Madison Avenue, New York, NY). RSVP and more details through the event Meetup page.
The meet up is supported by Implosion Labs.
Drag — as performance, as culture, as community — preexists internet culture by decades, but like everything, it has been shaped by the development of digital life. The emergence of social media offers new opportunities for self-definition, including new ways of performing genders and sexualities, for self-promotion, and for the representation of previously invisible communities. Join QX for Drag in the Digital Age to explore the relationship between drag and digital, gender and bodies, and self-promotion and self-identity in our new digitally mediated reality.
DRAG PERFORMANCES will follow the panel discussion and Q&A — bring tips!
